Partner: GMBFilm
Project: My Resilience Kit
Location: Cambodia
Year: 2022

Project Summary:

Introduction: In response to the challenges faced by migrant women during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, UN Women initiated the “My Resilience Kit” project. The aim was to create a comprehensive support package to help women who migrate to other countries, providing them with essential information and resources to protect themselves from violence, access support services, and navigate their new environments.

Project Overview:

The My Resilience Kit project focused on developing a suite of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to empower migrant women. In collaboration with GMBFilm, our team designed and produced a range of resources, including flyers, stickers, and branding materials. These tools were intended to provide clear guidance and support, ensuring that women have access to crucial information about their rights and available resources.

Project Objectives:
  1. Empower Migrant Women: Equip migrant women with practical resources to help them protect themselves and access support services in their new countries.
  2. Raise Awareness: Inform migrant women about the risks of violence and exploitation, and provide them with actionable steps to seek help.
  3. Promote Support Services: Highlight available resources and services for migrant women, ensuring they know where to turn in times of need.
  4. Enhance Visibility: Create visually engaging and easily accessible materials that effectively communicate key messages and resources.
Assignment Purpose:
  • Develop IEC Materials: Design and produce flyers, stickers, and branding elements to form part of the My Resilience Kit.
  • Provide Information: Ensure that materials clearly outline how to get help, recognize and address violence, and access support services.
  • Support Branding: Create a cohesive visual identity for the My Resilience Kit to enhance its impact and recognition.
Outputs:
  1. Flyers: Informative flyers detailing essential information about violence prevention, support services, and emergency contacts.
  2. Stickers: Visually engaging stickers to be distributed as part of the kit, serving as quick-reference guides for critical information.
  3. Branding: Development of a consistent branding strategy for the My Resilience Kit, including logos and design elements to ensure a unified and recognizable message.
  4. Other IEC Materials: Additional educational materials designed to address specific issues faced by migrant women and provide practical advice and resources.
Conclusion:

The My Resilience Kit project, developed in collaboration with GMBFilm for UN Women, successfully produced a range of IEC materials designed to support migrant women in navigating their new environments safely and effectively. By providing clear, accessible information and promoting available support services, the project aimed to empower women and enhance their resilience in the face of challenges and violence.
