Project Summary:
Introduction: In collaboration with GMBFilm and the Spotlight Initiative, we developed the event branding and IEC (Information, Education, Communication) materials for the special event, Words that Matter. This event, organized by UN Women, ILO, and the Safe and Fair program, aimed to launch the Media-friendly Glossary for Migration with a focus on Women Migrant Workers and Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW). The event took place at the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, AUPP, CLPD, on November 21, 2023.
Project Overview:
Our team was responsible for designing and producing visually engaging and informative IEC materials, including event posters, banners, and promotional content, to raise awareness about the event. The materials highlighted key topics related to labor migration, women’s empowerment, and ethical reporting, which aligned with the event’s goals to educate and inspire university students and professionals in the media and related fields.
Project Objectives:
- Awareness-Raising: Create materials that emphasize the importance of responsible and ethical reporting on labor migration and the challenges faced by women migrant workers.
- Event Promotion: Design clear and compelling event communication materials to attract students and professionals to the event.
- Engagement: Encourage participation through interactive panel discussions, networking opportunities, and inspiring presentations by expert speakers.
Assignment Purpose:
- IEC Material Design: Develop event posters and banners to effectively communicate event highlights, including expert speakers, discussions, and networking opportunities.
- Branding and Messaging: Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all event materials, aligning with the focus on gender-sensitive language and women’s empowerment.
Outputs:
- Posters & Banners: High-quality posters and banners designed to capture attention and provide event details such as the event title, date, time, and venue.
- Event Highlights: Key information such as expert speakers, interactive panel discussions, networking opportunities, and afternoon tea were prominently featured to engage the audience.
- Branding Consistency: Consistent use of the event’s branding, ensuring it aligns with the themes of women’s empowerment, ending violence against women, and migration advocacy.
Conclusion:
The Words that Matter event was a resounding success, with well-designed IEC materials that effectively conveyed the event’s key messages. Through collaboration with GMBFilm and the Spotlight Initiative, our team delivered materials that not only promoted the event but also inspired meaningful discussions around migration, gender-sensitive language, and women’s rights. The visual branding and promotional content helped create an atmosphere of discovery and engagement, encouraging participants to explore new perspectives on women migrant workers and their experiences.
